Gili Trawangan Gili Meno and Gili Air, 3 small yet beautiful islands with white sandy beaches, turquiose aqua water, wonderful coral reefs alive with exotic colourful fish and huge sea turtles, all the clocks are on rubber time. No cars, no motorbikes just bicycles, horses and carts, dining tables along the waters edge and the sea lapping at your ankles as you stroll along the beach with the sun scorching down on your back. If you can share such a place with someone you care about, bliss can be the only word to describe the experience. Trees draping over the waters edge as you drink fresh coconuts and eat ripe mango and pineapple. Luxury villas pools and luxury cuisine to keep your mind occupied with choice. Time stands still every day here as the sun kisses the waters edge, leaving behind a bright orange curtain accross the horizon each night. A small piece of paradise I have found and today I have left to go back to Lombok. A small boat ride back to the mainland and I collect my moped from the secure parking in Bangsal Harbour. No stress a 40 minute ride along the palm lined cliff faced coastal road through Sengigi and I am now sitting in Mataram Mall in an internet shop. Things to do, flights to cancel, visas to renew,.. I am not returning back to England on my flight Nov 14th I can notdo it, my heart will not let me and I am following my heart. Its that simple..so Indonesia I will stay a little while longer. I read Alexas comments on my blog yesterday and they are stirring me, she has been on my mind today, can’t post her/our story here but goodbye is never an easy thing to say or do..

Spent the afternoon swimming as deep as I could amongst the fish and coral, drank and ate fresh coconuts. Found a bakery that makes great croissantas and black coffee. Simple things under the blue skies and bright light of the sun,.. chickens in the street and horses pulling carts, “when reality becomes a nightmare it is time to live the dream..” Now every new reality each morning is born again and has been a dream come true for a very long time now.. I feel inside that my God is real and all praise and credit is due,…

1. I have been working on my land, with a local called Ruka. works like an ox and we have been clearing all the small trees so we can see where to get a bulldozer and digger in to get some levels for building at a later date. I havent surfed for a while and my hands have blisters and my shins scratched to pieces but life is good…
2. In what appears to becoming a habit I met a woman called Darsi Miranti in Bali airport when I was flying to Lombok, Not particularly in the frame of mind to meet any new beautiful women at this stage, however our paths crossed accross the runway and well the rest is history. It appears that we get on well and we have spent some time together for about a week on the Gili Isles just off Lombok,.. If romance had an address it would be here. I feel lke I have been given a free honeymoon without a wedding and all the hassle that goes with that, Wow Ooh La Laahh! life is good.. After my previous encounter in Bandung with Alexa I felt it necessary to steer my life in a different direction based on some integrity and deceit issues I felt she had at this stage of her life that I could not get entwined and involved with. This was not easy as I am very fond of her, however, I feel as though life has rewarded me for making a very difficult yet necessary decision to steer away from investing any more time in that direction.
So the relationship conveyor belt once again continues,.. however I am having a wonderful relaxing time, some quality loving and have taken some wonderful photos of wonderful places, whe possible I will try and post here soon.. No fresh water here on the Gili Islands, Internet is not so great!
I have a return flight to England on Nov 13th, I do not want to go back Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh! we shall see..

If Paradise looked like a place I think it would look like this

Just north of Ubud, inland within Bali are two Hindu temple sites both named Gunung Kawi, however one is old and one is new,.Basically the swell was pumping today but I decided not to surf, instead take my camera and video camera and visit these sites based on a recommendation from a surfer staying in the same bungalows as myself. I went with my friend Handa, who I picked up from Denpassar on the way through. She is a funny person and royally entertaining. A productive day and I took a lot of photos and also managed to film a few filler clips for a dvd production I am vaguely planning in my head.
As a result I now have pictures and video footage of many wonderful and magical views from today, although the light was not as great as I would have hoped. However I hope to be posting some of the pictures here in this post when I have a chance. A Long ride back today 1 and half hours, stopped in Ubud for a pizza.
Ubud really is a magical place and every time I pass through or visit there I feel such a renewal within my creativity and the creative hopes and aspirations i envision for myself, there really is an indescribable and a potent powerful energy in Ubud that is very inspiring. On the Moped ride home we passed a temple where some Hindu men were practicing their music for a cremation ceremony, I was invited in to sit and play with them. So I did and basically clanged and banged some cymbals for approx 30 mins to an hour. The Balinese locals are a very inviting, friendly and community based and their eagerness to involve me in their ceremony was real blessing to my day and my spirit.
So all in all today was a good day although i did not surf. Last week I booked a flight to Lombok (the island to the east of Bali) for Monday Morning 8am. I am feeling like it would be positive to spend some time outside of Kuta as I have been here about two months solid again now. On a more emotional note I am feeling a pretty big hole inside since Sunday having said good bye to my friend Alexa, since she has now flown back to Jakarta…She left me with a few cd’s of some of her music she selected for me to listen to, which I have and which has been having an intimate effect on my feelings…what I am feeling I am not in a position of clarity to articulate just yet…but its painful and reminds me I have a heart and that I am well and truly alive within it..

Back in Kuta, surfed airport left this evening until sunset with Johan Pontell, he is leaving for Sweden at the weekend. It was good to have a surf after spending 3 days drowning in a sea of oestrogen in the town known as Ubud (more to come on Ubud) The wave was not great today as the swell was hitting the reef in the wrong direction and most of the waves were closing out. Super busy with Australians in the sea today, I also experienced how rude Brazilians can be.
Ubud,
whilst I was in a restaurant in Ubud a female group of Holistic honeys were gathered at a nearby table, apparently they were experiencing a new sense of personal awakening as they were sat having a meal. I overheard their conversation and I vaguely interpreted from what I overheard that,.. they had returned from an ayervedic, reikied, energy balanced, yoga dance, pilates and rolfing enlightenment class with alexander technique and tantric breathing as the foundation for the healing of their wounded inner child, this it seems was combined and juxtaposed between discovering the true power of their earth mother connection within the safe yet free direction of their spiritually enlightened ashram gurus..(or something to that effect) Well whilst eating my Nasi Goreng (fried rice with an egg) a woman walked in and joined the group. When all whom were sat down asked her how was it for you, she replied “Seriously everyone, the velocity of positivity was just soo intense…” as this was said so projectively with a broad American accent I was really stopped in my tracks not knowing quite what to think, but I had to refrain with all self control from pi**ing myself from laughter soon after.. seriously the velocity of positivity was just sooo intense!…
Ubud, OK below are some photos from my few days with Skye and just generally walking around, there are images of many of the tropical flowers, views of the sunrises in the beautiful secluded paddy fields and Oh yes there are pictures of Skye in her bikini …just a brief note here I was not sure whether to post these shots due to their personal nature and whether or not Skye would mind..It was only when she said she wanted the shots as her Facebook profile picture I decided to post these. Me and Skye are good friends, no more and when we chat she often reminds me how my obsession with bodies and the human form leave her feeling upset and annoyed how my opinions represent and reinforce all the media bullshit so many women face on a daily basis. The pressure to stay slim and attractive upsets Skye as much as the next women out there. However Bali is a hot place and it is common place to see people wandering around in their underwear and bikinis due to the intense heat. Skye due to one of her “holistic honey” detox juicing regimes was feeling particular slender, svelte and confident about her body this weekend. She has issues about her body and skin similar to many other women. These shots which I think have captured her in great form will be a reminder to how things were when she was in her twenties and how things can be if she chooses to continue living a healthy life. “That which gets us there, will keep us there” Mr Rodriguez LA.. so until she asks me to take them down enjoy…Copyright Jason Lunn.com
